Less than two months after this website was launched, I was contacted by an enthusiastic Texas historian, Sarah Reveley. She has worked as a volunteer on the preservation of the Texas Centennial historic markers. She connected me with Bob Brickman of the Texas Historical Commission, whose reply is below. I completed the appropriate application process for a historical marker by composing the narrative portion. While doing that, I also drafted a summary of the text for possible use on the marker itself. These were submitted to the THC on September 2, 2013. I received the rejection notice from Bob Brickman on Oct. 10, 2014.
